ICT AND PEOPLES WITH DISABILITIES: A CARIBBEAN WORKSHOP Date: 09 – 11 February 2015 Location: St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda Venue: The Grand Royal Antiguan Beach Resort ICTs are among the best solutions to empower people with disabilities, this two- day workshop, facilitated by Professor Tim Unwin in partnership with Antigua and Barbuda’s Ministry of Telecommunications. Delegates attending the workshop will learn how: -To raise awareness amongst participants of the fundamental changes that people with disabilities can experience in their lives through the effective use of ICTs; -To share good practices in the design and implementation of ICT policies and strategies in the Caribbean; -To help participants develop frameworks through which rhetoric about the use of ICTs by people with disabilities can be turned into reality in their countries. This workshop is intended primarily for mid-level and senior managers in ICT/Telecommunication Ministries and Regulators in Commonwealth Caribbean states. It is, though, also open to government officials from other Ministries, as well as interested civil society and private sector participants.
