ILLUSORY REFLECTIONS ( 3 ) THE PICTURE / PORTRAIT OF DORIAN GRAY ( Title of OSCAR WILDEs classic novel ) The story of a beautiful & innocent young mans seduction , moral corruption & eventually downfall DORIAN GRAY falls in love with his own gorgeous IMAGE in the oil painting & ultimately destroyed by it He keeps the painting at home so that he can admire his own BEAUTY day in day out He starts to live hedonistically The beautiful IMAGE changes revealing new scars & physical flaws with each of his dasdardly actions He wants to keep his portrait as beautiful as ever hanging on the wall As years pass , the man in the picture grows more & more hideous & it has not improved with his good deeds Frustrated , he destroys the picture , the only visible evidence of his dreadful crimes by slashing at it with a knife In pensive mood , he catches a glimpse of himself in the mirror He hates his own BEAUTY & breaks the mirror , then thrusts the knife in his heart MIRROR , FLOWER , WATER , MOON When a single flower is reflected unto a thousand of mirrors , it becomes one thousand of flowers When the moon reflects itself in the water , it becomes untouchable These things are meant to teach one to resist TEMPTATION TEMPTATION is what seems to destroy man in many shapes Humans are the strangest creatures TANGIBILITY Why do we reach for things we know we are never to touch Nevertheless it becomes our OBSESSION TEMPTATION is a TOXIN that runs through our veins We cannot help but become drunken off our own INHIBITIONS INTOXICATING ( Quoted from KYOKA SUIGETSU ) 浮 光 掠 影 鏡 花 水 月 ( 3 ) 似 梦 非 梦 似 花 非 花 飘 飘 渺 渺 朦 朦 胧 胧 依 旧 那 份 情 原 來 都 在 红 尘 中 誰 也 茫 然 度 此 生 因 果 皆 是 缘 何 须 曾 约 定 明 月 有 过 几 重 山 滴 水 青 天 可 作 証 花 落 花 开 片 片 红 卻 將 纷 繞 风 吹 散 此 生 缘 鏡 花 水 月 都 成 空 幻
