IS A MALE CHILD SUPERIOR TO A FEMALE CHILD? Recently, I met a woman whose husband died when her two daughters were 1&3yrs old. She approached her late husbands family for assistance, they told her that since her kids are females, there was no need to care for them because they will drop the familys name. Thats a devilish mentality supported by Africans. Lets get some facts from the scriptures: 1- There is no place in the bible(under the new testament that we are) where a gender was said to be superior to the other. In fact Paul said theres no female or male in Christ, Gal3:28. That means, God doesnt look at us from the gender difference perspective. Under grace, a woman deserves what a man deserves because Christ paid the price. 2- Man is not the head of a woman but rather, the bible said the HUSBAND is the head of his WIFE, Eph5:23. That means, a man is the leader or head of a woman within the context of the home not in the society. Some men boss around every woman in their community&office saying they are the head,thats scripturally wrong. As long as those women are not your wife, you cant assume leadership except you merit it. If you dont want to be embarrassed,dont try to tell another mans wife how she should dress, thats the duty of her husband. You are not her head. 3- Leadership is not an exclusive right of a particular gender because God doesnt assign duty to us on gender basis. If in an organization, hierachy and merit puts a woman above a man, then so be it&vice-versa. Every man or woman should simply pay the price to get to the top of their career,ministry&business. 4- That a man is the head in the home doesnt mean he is better. Headship in the home is the divine role God designed him to play while submission to your husband doesnt mean you are less, rather, it is the purpose for which you are designed in that home Eph5:23-26. DONT RUB SHOULDERS WITH YOUR HUSBAND. Let us create an ideal society where we all do what is right. Primordial sentiments should be shoved especially in certain communities where the mothers of all- female children are victimised. Think like a Christian not like an African.
