Ian will be 10 years old on Tuesday, April 8....and hes so excited about it because it like marks a milestone of maturity since hes reached the 2-digit age. I tell him that when he reaches a certain age, hed wish he gets younger, haha! A few days ago, I asked what he wants for his gift and he said Xbox. But even before I said talk to your dad about that, he already knew he wont get such gift or anything related to video games. Its just a sore issue, I dont even bother to argue about it anymore. Its not that I agree or disagree 100%, I just hoped we can compromise. But no, Robert wouldnt hear any of it. So.....Ian is resigned to it, although every Christmas hed still try his luck with Santa (and of course, he still wont get it). Today, Ian broached the subject of having his own email account. He had asked for it before but I said no. But this time I said okay, but it will be our birthday gift to you. Little did I know that hed be ecstatic about it -- who else among kids got their own email account for their 10th birthday? Apparently, he thinks its cool. Oh my baby, hes so low (or no) maintenance, I cant stop smiling thinking about this. And hes even okay without a party or bringing some food to their class on his birthday. Im just so grateful that he has no streak of materialism in his soul. :)
