If Better Gnomes and Gardens were an actual magazine for the magickal community,the title from book would be featured section. I found this old book on slight of hand/stage magic on Ebay. This type of book would be the perfect addition to the collection my Aunt Maxine has..somewhere in the Hohneker history..Aunt Maxine either was related to or knew Blackstone the Magician because she had memorabilia of stage magic and I think who ever that was also inspired my brother John as a child/teenager because John used to do stage magic like the Chinese metal rings, the three coloured balls in a tube,pouring milk into a paper cone..etc. I think The Prestige and partially The Illusionist movies were based upon this time period or a bit earlier. Seeing some of the diagrams reminded me of scenes from The Illusionist the Orange Tree diagrams and the diagrams for the locket that Jessica Biels character wore.
