If Dingoes across Australia dont get protection our entire biodiversity will become barren!!!! Does it truly matter whether or not you believe they are native or not??? If you believe the dingo to be “recently” introduced. There is absolutely no hard evidence to that assumption, but there is now a growing pile of peer reviewed literature in the molecular biology field, to confidently claim that the dingo may well have made its own unassisted way to mainland Australia, not 3,000 years ago, as you state, but up to 18,000 years ago. (see Proceedings of the Royal Society, 2011 Savolainen, Wilton et.al) . That is long before the rise of just about every known human civilisation, other than aboriginal Australians. It is a mesolithic mammal, and not a neolithic one. There is 3,500 year old carbon dated fossil evidence, well documented, and there are ancient, possibly 9 – 11,000 years old rock paintings in the Pilbara region which clearly depict nothing other than dingoes. If it is fossil evidence only that sways you, then you must give the dingo another half century; but if it is legislative definition, then the dingo clearly fits into the native or indigenous description, because the dingo was indeed present before the year 140...... Is that not native enough?
