If I asked you “What is a chair?” more than likely you would - TopicsExpress

If I asked you “What is a chair?” more than likely you would respond with “An object designed for sitting.” You would look at me as if I had lost my mind, because chairs are everywhere. It’s really no big deal. I use to think that same way. What if you had to sit on the floor or the ground as punishment for never appreciating chairs. Just imagine watching your favorite television show or eating a well prepared dinner while sitting on the filthy ground. How about sitting on the floor at school, church or at a doctor’s appointment. After that humbling experience most would defined a chair as a luxury. For four and a half years I had someone in my life who treated me much better than I deserved to be treated. I took that person for granted because I viewed her as a convenience instead of a blessing. She was there for me in my most difficult times. I became so used to the way she treated me to the point where I felt that it was an entitlement. I needed her to understand that I was the greatest man she would ever meat. I needed her to know that she had to treat me like a king in order to be a part of my life. To my surprise, it back fired. See, while I was calling the shots and running the show, she was developing a love for herself and her children that was far greater than the love she had for me. She started feeling as if she deserved a more meaningful life then what I was giving her. I’m so proud of her for not allowing me to manipulate and/or mistreat her and her children any longer. And now for the first time in my life I’m finally accepting the fact that I’m sitting on the cold and filthy ground looking up and she is comfortably sitting in a chair looking down. My aim is to leave this posted as long as I can in hopes of saving someone else from this painful lesson.
