If anyone knows of any scholarships for pre-med students (ahem USC Alumni association members), this gal needs some serious help! Its times like this I wish I had parents. With money. Or (rich) siblings or other relatives. Im not giving up hope just yet, but it looks like Im going to have to defer my USC attendance in August this year due to financial reasons. Does anyone know how much a kidney sells for on the black market? You only need one, right? I dont think getting financial help for medical school will be much of a problem, I see all sorts of aid Id qualify for. Plus I fit into all the desirable recruiting categories, plus I want to go into rural medicine, and Ive noticed many programs offer free or reduced tuition in exchange for primary care doctors in rural areas, of which there is a dearth. I will not let this little snafu be an impediment to achieving my dreams. My mother always said whats meant for you in life will happen. Positive outcomes only!
