If anyone out there playing on Playstation Network, Path of Exile, Battle.Net, or League of Legends experienced lag and disconnects today, blame Lizard Squad. dailydot/esports/psn-blizzard-riot-ddos-attack/. This guy is absolutely bonkers. He has been DDosing, or sending a massive amount external, useless information to game servers to cause them to slow down or completely stop. He claims it as an attack on fat corporate greed within the gaming industry. But what is worse is that been exploding Twitter with 911 videos and ISIS support, as well as making a false claim of a bomb attack regarding the President of Sony, John Smedley. I have no idea why Lizard Squad has decided to commit this attack or support ISIS. DDos attacks are not terrible to say the least. It does not compromise game accounts (recall the credit card compromise of the PS Network in 2011) nor permanently damage gaming servers. It is more of an annoyance rather than any damaging attack. A DDos attack will do nothing to stop so called corporate video game greed or gain awareness or support for ISIS. The world keeps becoming stranger and stranger with each passing day.
