If going deeper in your relationship with Christ is your desire then consider that it is like deep sea diving. The flesh (human body) has a built in buoyancy that will not allow you to go very deep. To counter that buoyancy weight must be added so the diver can go deeper. I would like to suggest what some of these weights are in a personal sense that would allow one to go deeper in their relationship with God. Humility - An emptying of ones sense of self importance. Dependence upon God - understanding that in ourselves we can do nothing without Christ. Single-mindedness - the only life purpose is to please the Savior. Dependence upon the Holy Spirit - walking in the Spirit overcomes all the buoyancy of the flesh. Beyond these things could be added any of the attributes of Christ-like living. The key in this quest for going deeper is overcoming the flesh so you can explore the beauty and depths of a perpetual life giving relationship with Christ our Savior...
