If low birth rate continues in singapore, what could be the consequences ? Answers: Whether it is in Singapore, Japan, European countries, or any other country, the low birth rate would create an aging population (higher % of old folks). The 2 main issues identified by the experts are: (1) Insufficient young people to support their parents. You cant have a country where everybody live in nursing home (2) Insufficient productive population to run the economy, forcing the government to rely on immigration in getting the required talents and workers. Today, 1 of 4 Singapore residents are foreigners. In years to come, the ratio may increase further to 1/3 or 1/2. FIRST ALL SINGAPOREANS MUST FIRST RECOGNISE THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM......AND IF YOU DO NOT HAVE AT LEAST 2 CHILDREN, YOU ARE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM....HENCE YOU CAN BE THE SOLUTION...AND YOU ARE THE SOLUTION.....THE LEAST YOU COULD DO IS TO ACCEPT NEW CITIZENS....TO RE-PRODUCE FOR YOU.....
