If the scripture was written by Jews with the possible exception of one book, and it was written with a Hebrew mental reference, by mid eastern thinkers, what makes us in the west think we can interpret without understanding their mindset first? This is so prevalent that there are actually people that think day one of the week is really day seven, go figure. Quoting scripture without an appreciation for the land, the history, and customs of the people the words were written by and to is a slippery slope and could end a person in opposition to the Jewish King we keep asking to return and set up His Kingdom.
