If we are ever to properly understand the magnificence of the GOSPEL, then let us NEVER forget that when we read, think, or sing of Christ being, despised, forsaken, stricken, afflicted, pierced, crushed, chastened, rejected, cursed etc, that such SHOULD HAVE BEEN US, that MY sins deserved such, that I am the rightfully condemned party, that it was I who should have endured the forsaking of the Father! Died for me? O yes, but I/we must not forget that He died because of me, my sins made such a horrific and agonizing atonement NECESSARY. What glorious grace is this that we would be made children of the Most High, that we who were far off, we who were alienated from God, we who were enemies of God would be ransomed through the precious blood of Jesus Christ!! Friend, you CANNOT make light of Gods wrath towards sinners and the heinous nature of sin without also making light of the worth of Christ and the riches of grace! ~ Julius Mickel
