If you think you can apply clown make-up just by looking at the package. You cant. First of all, you have to be able to draw even lines and shapes on your face. That alone is no joke. Then the make-up that comes in the kit is not exactly high grade stuff. It does not dry or set at any point, so forget about touching your face, ever. Oh and you will definitely not achieve the smooth, even white coverage you see in the picture, its more like Noxzema face. Not a good look, so I opted out of the white base entirely. If youre a novice going for the clown face this year, find some good makeup, hire a professional or manage your expectations. You just may end up with a face full of messy paint and heart full of woe. So why the clown choice? Yeah, that would be one of the very few costumes I could find that was appropriate for a kids party. Your friendly Don Quixote is stacked wall to wall with over-priced hot mama costumes, ugh, but thats another rant. Anyway, once I was in some semblance of order and made it through the pouring rain to the event, which awesomely happened to be in my very own neighborhood, the Halloween party was a hoot! Adorable kids, genki home teachers and ECC staffers made me forget all about the extra hour of sleep I missed this morning doing make-up. Alls well that ends well. Now off to sing swing jazz for a wedding reception. I think Ill leave the clown suit at home. Happy Halloween!
