Ill admit, I shared one of those angry Facebook posts about common core problems. But then I actually looked at a few lessons and was startled. I found that suddenly, they were teaching math in a way that my brain could comprehend. I *like* the use of different strategies to reach the same end goal. Not all of the strategies work for me, personally, but its really nice to know that if I teach my kids some underhanded math trick that makes everything make sense in my brain, they might just be learning it in school, too.
