Illegal immigration solution : The Statue of Liberty has this written at its base .... Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. The wretched refuse of your teamming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door! Yet, we are a nation of law and order. There are valid security concerns by simply allowing anyone and everyone to come over our borders without knowing if they have a serious criminal history. There ARE some people that should not be allowed to live here. Our government should use the tremendous influx of people entering our country to create JOBS for our current citizens. These should not be simply law enforcement jobs to shuttle illegals back out of the country, but jobs to take well meaning individuals through the legalization process ... even if they came over illegally. * Hire English teachers to help them learn our language. * Hire housing reps to assist them in finding sustainable shelter until they can become productive members of society. * Hire individuals to train them in construction jobs since our bridges, roads, and infrastructure are badly in need of repair. * Build immigration college campuses focused solely on teaching immigrants all of the different facets to successfully integrating into our society. Each campus would have a myriad of staff members, creating tens of thousands of jobs .... for our CURRENT CITIZENS ... and future jobs for immigrants. I believe there is tremendous opportunity to lift our current economy by HELPING immigrants assimilate, rather than simply hiring more border patrol agents to send them back where they came from.
