Im actually impressed that I have not (that I know of) seen any of these. Ive only seen a couple of references that had no real context until I read this. So to all of you who didnt do this, thank you. And if I just missed it, Im still thankful. 8^) We dont need tons more cancer awareness. We need funded research and treatments. We need better eating habits. We need to clean up the environment. We need to stop treating dangerous, or even unknown, crap as something we can eat, breathe, wear, or live in. But awareness? Were aware. We just make poor choices. And we need to pour some serious love and support into those attacked by cancer-- the patients and their families and friends. Walk through it with them. Hold their hand. Hug them. Laugh and cry with them. Be fully there for and with them. Pray for them. Serve them. Help wherever they need it. Thats cancer awareness. Not green. Not on the dining table. Not to Rome for 17 days. Not a no-makeup selfie. I realize most peopel do those things out of a sense of caring, but really, if you found out tomorrow your boobs, or your skin, or your brain, or your stomach, or your reproductive system had gone rogue and was trying to kill you... how much support would you see in those posts? Youre awesome. And loved. Go love on someone and look for the awesome in them. Share the awesome in you. Be the difference.
