Im livid. When I was in high and middle school, we learned all about the Holocaust. We read a million and twenty books about it. I could tell you all about Auschwitz. I could talk to you about other concentration camps all day long. But I am JUST NOW learning that there even WAS a camp specifically for women. I didnt even know women WENT to their own camp. I didnt even know this was a thing. And everyone says there IS no War on Woman? Fine. If there isnt, why wasnt I educated about what the Holocaust meant for women? Why isnt this included in women history things I learned about in high school (which was honestly pretty limited, anyway). Teacher friends on Facebook, how about you buy this book thats coming out and have your students read this instead of Boy in the Striped Pajamas or Friedrich? I absolutely DO NOT think this camp should have been skipped in my high school education.
