Im not very pleased with Washoe County public school. Im sorry, but I just dont think kindergarteners should have homework EVERY night and lose their computer lab class time for going on red (misbehaving moderately) Cassie told a little boy she hated him-NOT allowed-so she lost the privilege of learning computers today. Ummm....when I was a kid we never had homework until we were much older and when we misbehaved we had to do MORE school work. Furthermore, I am at work 10-11 hours per day. By the time we get home we have under two hours before bedtime to do chores, eat, bathe, TALK, brush teeth, read a book and SEE each other. Plus, I pay for full-day kindergarten. $1700 this year. Can you let her learn computers and do her school work at school? Maybe if there werent 20 different book signings and fairs and parent/student activity days, and fun projects, and PTA fundraisers and blank-a-thons and early release days and bring your special person to school days, and leprechaun hunt days, and all the other special days that make it IMPOSSIBLE for a single parent to NOT at least inconvenience his/her employers, there would be more time available to do schoolwork instead of sending home 5 billion worksheets for parents to cram into their family time, which by the way I could cut out of any grocery store workbook and give as assignments myself. I just dont get it. If you are a lone parent who works full time, you might be better off quitting your job and homeschooling your kid while you collect public assistance because you might end up getting fired for the mandatory parent involvement time-off when your kid starts KINDERGARTEN, and youll be doing the bulk of the actual teaching at home anyway. That is all.
