Im noticing these videos and similar ones popping up all over Facebook. I am usually quiet about things like this and just move along to the next post, but I cant just sit here and not say anything about this. This officer was notified that there was a man with a gun. That in itself is cause to check out this young man. If we get a call from dispatch to check out citizen complaints, we go to the scene to see what exactly is going. We have to ask questions and we have every right to do that because we had a complaint call. We dont know who you are until we ask questions. We arent mind readers and there is so many bad things happening out there that most people have no clue about. This officer is gathering info and I.D so he can run a check through the database to make sure this young man has a lawful carrying permit. I have had to do this during traffic stops. Once the info comes back that they are not a felon and are carrying lawfully we give back the gun and all is good. This young man is instigating and being very rude. I know that there are some police officers out there that should not wear the badge and they are a disgrace, but the good majority of us are in this job to help and protect people. I do it because I care and dont like to see people hurt, in pain, or being misused. I can only imagine what the public would say if this young man wasnt checked and turned out to be somebody that wanted to hurt people, then it would be Where were the cops? All I ask is please think before posting things because spreading fear is just wrong. P.S.What did I do last night? I chased a very drunk person that was speeding the wrong way on a fairly busy 4 lane highway. I risked my safety because I didnt want that driver to hit somebody head on, somebodies family, loved ones. I care! We arent evil people. Thank you for taking the time to read. Big love to all
