Im participating in the Los Angeles Walk for Farm Animals and I have 25 dollars left to raise for these cuties. I would like to surpass this goal. The video below is an example of some of the great work they do at Farm Sanctuary People sometimes ask why put so much energy toward helping farm animals? We wouldnt have to put any energy toward helping them if it werent for all the energy people use to harm them. When an animal is viewed as money-making property rather than a sentient being, and when an animal has no voice, this animal is left in a very vulnerable position. If we are upset when dogs are abused, theres no reason we shouldnt be just as upset when pigs are abused. The only difference is because as humans we have created a bias against animals that we eat, because its a lot easier to make jokes about how tasty murder is, and how much we love bacon, than it is to look critically at the abuses that happen behind closed doors to the animals we eat. (And for the record, those jokes arent very clever.) Most people are against factory farm abuse. If you are too, please consider contributing to this wonderful organization.
