Im particularly partial to the musical based on Florence Foster Jenkins life, Souvenir. I remember seeing the show in Houston some years ago and balling my eyes out at the end when the audience hears what she was hearing all along. Great story to share, indeed, and turn into a movie. However, am I the only person who is so over Meryl? Please, give me someone else to do this role. There are so many wonderfully talented actors out there who could--and would--kill this role. Its one of my biggest frustrations in the world of acting, in both theatre and film. The same people doing every large role, and yes, doing it incredibly--which is (partly) why they are chosen. The other part is tickets. You can get butts in seats when you constantly have a star taking on the role. Nonetheless, you can still get butts in seats if youd just get more creative in marketing and publicity. Try another route. Were getting stale. Please. And thank you.
