Im rather frustrated recently with lots of financial things going on. Ive mentioned some like not getting wood help from LHEAP or car troubles or Kenzies birthdad once again disappearing from the face of the earth so no child support. Add in the deficit of cash flow with John in the ALF and things are tight. Im dealing with these things as best as I can and doing okay. But something happened recently that royally pissed me off. Weve had the book business for over 10 years and while sales have been slow over the last few years weve always made our fee and a little extra money. that changed last month when some one posted a really bad review saying the book was in bad shape and wanted their money back. I was in the process of doing so when we started to have internet issues and i couldnt access many sites. This included Amazon. When I finally got back on he had written a very nasty review about me disappearing but he hadnt actually checked the obits. By the time I read this I had already sent him his refund and extra money for the return postage. In the last 5 week since then Ive had 2 sales, only 1 who reviewed. for almost a year Ive had 5 star ratings on reviews except a 1 star 10 months ago and this new one. for the first time ever we didnt even cover our amazon Seller Fee! So heres the thing...both of the 1 star reviews in the past year have been other booksellers who bought our books to resell. I cant help but feel that they are also trying to leave nasty ratings to destroy our business. Not everyone reviews what they purchase but why else would the only seriously bad reviews only come from other sellers? Its not like I can tell customers to ignore those reviews, Amazon doesnt really have place to do it. The only way to get more positive reviews is to have more books sell but that one review is right at the top and its discouraging.
