Im reading, The Bridge: The Life and Rise of Barack Obama and heres an excerpt I find disturbing. Its quite sad what so many religious-minded people do in the name of religion. Lewis and a young comrade led the march--a huge, double-file line of six hundred people...At the crest of the bridge, Lewis and Williams came to a halt. Six hundred men, women, and children stopped behind them. There facing us at the bottom of the other side, stood a sea of blue-helmeted, blue-uniformed Alabama state troopers...The officer in charge, Major John Cloud, told Lewis that the protestors made up an unlawful assembly...Cloud ordered Lewis and Williams to turn around and go back. May we have a word with you Major? William asked. There is no word to be had, Cloud said, and gave them two minutes to disperse...Lewis said to Williams, We should kneel and pray. Hundreds got to their knees. ===== Who wants to take a guess at what happened next? A. God intervened, and they were allowed to move on B. Hundreds were instantly killed, tear-gased, and harmed in other ways People have been foolishly leaving common sense alone, and relying on prayer for a long time. These people are no different than those parents who refuse medical attention for their children, but instead turn to prayer, and the child dies. Its really sad.
