Im so upset about how this whole town soccer vs. BYSA thing is going down. If the town was upset that they werent able to gather enough players for their league, they should have just let this year play out and tried harder next season to obtain more players. What is going on right now seems kind of ridiculous. A good solution may have been to just have the town and BYSA play games against each other to keep some sort of consistency for the kids. I am a parent that didnt grow up in South Jersey and my son is new to soccer. When I joined I was not even aware that there was this inner turmoil between leagues. I just joined BYSA because my son had a friend who was on one of their teams and he said he enjoyed it. I was initially going to join Haddon Heights or Cherry Hills soccer leagues because I knew they were established and have friends with kids in those towns. However, after going to the first couple of games and practices with Coach Chris and Karen (who we scrimmaged with a couple of times), I was pleasantly surprised that a league in Bellmawr was really teaching kids how to play soccer and learn rules while having a great time. I went as far as to tell my mother in north Jersey that I had made a good decision by staying within my own town to have my son play. Now I feel like Ive been made into an ass and am embarrassed to call this the town we live in. I hope this is resolved very quickly and that my son can stay on Coach Chris team. Hes really sparked his interest on soccer and this would be very disappointing to lose the momentum he has.
