Im still catching up on my sleep and getting my system back to my normal diet but all in all the Mt. Spokane ride was a huge success. Even Dean Hoalst riding by himself didnt get lost. Thanks to David and Francis for introducing this stunningly beautiful area to me. I had to do a crash course in Mt Spokane trails 101 as I wasnt familiar with the trail system. Thank god for Google earth. A big thank you to Julie James who helped me scout trail and her husband Terry (who did his first 50) for pre-riding the big loop. The rangers at the park were awesome and loved the event hanging and dining with us the whole weekend. The whole Lewis clan were in attendance doing a fabulous job keeping all the riders and crew fed along with taking pictures along the trail. Lots of PNER folks jumped in to help and for fear of forgetting someone I will just say a huge thank you to all. We couldnt have pulled it off without my two sidekicks and partners in crime Gail Williams and Joyce Kellenberger. Its so nice to work with people that are so in sync with each other. My biggest observation about the whole weekend was the camaraderie between everyone there. Not sure if it had to do with the close parking facilities or just the type of people that were brave enough to try a new ride with new ride mangers but there was absolutely no line drawn between trail riders, LDs or 50s, racers or middle of the packers. Everyone was hanging out with everyone and there were lots of educational opportunities and just plain happy people. It was just like the good old days!
