Im still trying to sink in how all this came to be. Yesturday made it even more unrealistic yet surreal and assurance that I should share about it... So my mom kept bugging me about finding a retreat back in early July. In my town there was nothing going on for a while so I told myself I love driving so Im going to find anything here in California no matter the distance so shell stop bugging me. Was the summer and I wanted to get away anyway. I lost track of how many churches from L.A up to San Fransisco I called. Some retreats werent till the fall, others were for certain ages and people that I didnt fit my category. Then I end up with one in Vislia, 2.7 hours from me, 30 mins from Fresno. As I was getting the info about the retreat, I felt like asking the secretery out of nower about Fresno. She rite away mentioned a retreat that she had heard about in this old church in Fresno, Our Lady of Monte Carmelo. She strongly encouraged me to go, and it fit perfectly with what I was looking for so I did. Showed my mom a picture we had taken at the retreat. And she said, that place looks so familiar. TURNS OUT that out of the roughly 400 catholic churches in California, I ended up going to the only one,out of nearly 10 churches in Fresno, that my parents attended for years when they use to live in Fresno... I went went back to mass this Sunday there. As I was entering mass on Monday at my church just BLOCKS away from where I live and hours away from Monte Carmelo, the same priest in charge over at Monte Carmelo who gave mass on Sunday TURNS OUT to celebrate mass as a simple invite here...Unbelievable things like these I sometimes may wrongly view as only coincidences are what allows me and us to believe and keep being greatful that we are allowed to expierence.
