Im sure this post is going to rub a few people the wrong way... But who would I be if I denied my passion and convictions? While I think birth control should be regarded as a covered benefit, I now understand the Hobby Lobby debate. Both sides have valid and credible points, regardless of religious preferences. I believe the topic is worthy of a discussion. However, if one asserts their personal preferences to the point that it denies another person to marry whomever they choose or denies a female the right to choose what happens to her body, then that person is displaying traits of bigotry. I am beginning to lose faith in humanity! Why is it so difficult to understand that it is possible to support freedom even if you dont entirely agree with certain liberties? Why is it so hard to accept that people, all people, are different? Why does diversity seem to imply something negative? Personally, I see that our nation has a bigger problem with hypocrisy than with bigotry. The Right wants less government intrusion except when it comes to marriage equality and a womans right to choose. The Left wants more freedom and support from the government, especially for marriage equality and a womens right to choose. Do you see the hypocrisy? Do you understand how and why this is a problem? Do you understand the difference between autonomy and conformity? Do you understand the process of control? Rest assured, the politicians do. And it works to their benefit to keep the nation divided; if the voters cant compromise then politicians can dictate the law. Clearly, politicians cannot be honest when they spin their political wheel; but, it would be helpful if voters would consider the facts critically and objectively.
