Imaam ibn Uthaymeen (rahimahullah) said: The six levels of knowledge: 1. Ilm, which is certain knowledge. 2. al Jahlul baseet (simple ignorance), which is not knowing something in its entirety 3. al Jahlul murakkab (compound ignorance) which is to know something incorrectly (i.e. you think you know when in reality you dont know) 4. al wahm (delusion) which is to think that something is true despite the fact that the opposite is more probable. 5. ash Shakk (doubt) which is knowing something to be true while that which is opposite has an equal chance of being correct. 6. adh Dhann (assumption / supposition) which is knowing something to be true and it is likely that it is.
