Imagine a place full of sights and sounds. Imagine all of your senses being awakened all at once. A place where you can experience technology hands on. Imagine learning about many cultures, being immersed in Culinary Arts,live music,adventures,unforgettable memories and experiences,and all of this being first class. Imagine having all these sounds and experiences with little quiet areas to take it all in. By the water where you can hear the water lapping watching the ducks swim by. While taking in all sights around you in a peaceful tranquil manor. Sounds pretty amazing and exciting right? This place did exist its called Epcot. Now imagine.. the tranquility fading away to machine noises. The sounds of first class music being silenced. The culture slowly fading away to being replaced by a land that doesnt exist. Imagine beautiful trees being chopped down for entertainment. Instead of relaxing sounds and getting out of the real world. Imagine chainsaws are heard all over this land. Then you go a little further hearing wailing,screeching. Panic sets in thinking someone is hurt or dying. Then you realize its supossed to be entertaining. Imagine a vibrant land now black and grey less entertaining. This is the new Epcot forming. Less happy,less fun,less magical Epcot was a unique park. Two different worlds you can enter. The front of the park you can experience history,science,technology,conservation, and so much more. Then you enter the worldshowcase. Different cultures,sights,sounds,smells and your senses coming alive. There are culinary delights,first class entertainment such as MoRockin, Off Kilter,Fife and Drum. All these acts are entertaining,refreshing that you can see over and over again. Each pavilion is unique and you can learn a lot about history,tradition,music,and language. You cant do this with a made up land. Yes Epcot needs updating but in the right areas. Cast costumes are dated and not sized properly. The heavy polyester makes you bake in the sun. (ive worn them). Areas need to be fixed with cracks,chips,dents,and fresh paint. Another country could be added plenty of space. The African outpost could be used for a country or another ride..the theme and what its used for is out of place. Liberty inns menu could be revamped. Its very stereotypical of America. The theme is colonial which should have colonial food. I have menus planned that would work in your equipment backstage. Maelstrom should be left just tweaked and updated some. If Frozen is a must put it in after maelstrom. The movie area is big could be ideal for frozen. Imagine two attractions in one country. You would have the frozen fans and the hardcore maelstrom fans. Epcot has shows now that arent first class. These acts arent up to the incredible Disney standards. These shows are a one time only stay for a few minutes or seconds kind of act. The noise,the pollution(gas and sound), and cutting down our natural resources is that the Disney name/brand now? In the Land you have a ride called living with the Land. Teaching us about how we coexist with the earth and how we should protect and take care of it. A very strong powerful message. Then you have an act cutting down trees for entertainment. Putting gas fumes into the air,saw dust pouring out into the air. Yes tree saplings are replaced but they take years to grow and produce less oxygen and clean air as a full grown mature tree. A mixed message is being sent care about the earth but cut down natural resources for entertainment. The Berber music wailing and chanting is part if the music. I love Berber music. This new group doesnt come close to what traditional Berber music is supposed to be. Its very hard on the ears not entertaining to stand to listen. Berber isnt the whole of Moroccan culture just part of it. Morocco is rich and full of history from many cultures coming together creating Morocco. MoRockin took all these influences as well as the Berber and made a very unique sound representing the whole of Morocco. I implore you to listen to Off Kilter and MoRockin and then listen to what is called refreshing. You will see a big difference between show,class,musicianship/showmanship,entertainment,and guest interaction. Since these changes have occurred I can no longer come back to Epcot my home. It truly breaks my heart. I have severe migraines chainsaws and screeching will make me sick and possible trip to the hospital. Its a very hard thought not coming back to my home that I live,played,worked, thousands of memories in. In traditions we were told never to say no to a guest always make them happy. (of course there are some exceptions.) When did we start disappointing our guests and taking away memories? Change is good to keep things fresh and the business going. When the change affects happiness,money,numbers,and guest coming back the business and guests suffer. Even though Im no longer a CP/CM. I still take great pride in my guests and the parks especially Epcot my home. I live for Walts dream and his vision. Walt has inspired me in so many areas of life and career. He is gone but his legacy lives on. I want to keep that fire, the passion, and magic alive for him. He was very dedicated to his guests and listened to their wants and putting it into action. Working for you Ive had a chance to study Walt and the companys history in depth its fascinating about how we operate and our guest service. With that being said close to 5,000 guest are crying out to you. They are very upset with Epcots changes. 5,000 people is a lot of voices wanting to be heard. It breaks my heart as a former CM to see my guests so upset. The Disney name is getting tarnished by the changes. Im asking you to please listen to thousands of guests. I fully understand there are contracts made with the other acts which ties into legal matters. I want to see our guests happy and returning to Epcot with first class entertainment. I know Off Kilter has a spot for the holidays which is awesome. What about MoRockin for the holidays? If they cant be returned to Epcot what about other locations on Disney property? If its a matter of cost for benefits a charge could be made to cover the costs of them. They are worth every penny you have spent having them preform plus more. In closing please listen to our guests. I wish for the memories to remain not memories of anger,frustration,hurt to be the last memories of Disney. The Disney name stands for tradition,history,incredible guest service,and so much more. I really miss Epcot the way it was. Please this former CM wants to come home again. Thank you for your time,
