In 1993, I watched the ESPYs on TV. In my mind the single greatest ESPY speech I have ever heard was from that year. It may have been one of the top speeches I have ever heard and I still listen to it often. It was from the great Jimmy Valvano, who was the former coach at NC State. His team overcame odds in the 1983 NCAA final against a powerful Houston team to win on the final shot. Those who follow sports will remember his frantic dash on the court looking for someone to hug. I was 9 when that happened and I remember my dad cheering loudly as the underdog won. Jimmy lived his life with passion and conviction. As he was stricken with cancer in his later years, he was presented with the inaugural Arthur Ashe Courage and Humanitarian Award for his fight against bone cancer and his charitable causes towards cancer research, His foundation lives on today even after his death. I am pretty sure a lot of you never heard this speech, but listen to it, share it among your friends and fellow Relentless families and heed these words from a great man who lived his life with inner strength. I dont have many heroes, but this mans fight made him one of mine. How he handled his life after his diagnosis made him one. Everyone who is battling a disease, overcoming it or beating it is a hero of mine for their strength. The children and families of Relentless are heroes. https://youtube/watch?v=HuoVM9nm42E
