In 2010, a little known group(a traditional singing group) from Eastern Uganda was nominated for #Grammy_awards. That really made me to wonder how a little known group be nominated for Grammy awards? I later realised that some people really work hard to see their own people succeed. The song from this group was pushed hard by some one from that region. Now what are our boys and girls both at home and in the diaspora who have the connections doing to promote their own? We the artists have shown our capabilities but we are not being given the opportunity. Sometimes our very own people frustrate us to no point. Weve a rich culture that can be a very big export but no one is investing his/her time to sell us within and abroad. Remember, its not about money but use your position and network of friends please. Shall we have only Geoffrey Oryema featuring in Hollywood movie soundtracks? We need more and yes weve the potential. Lets push for our own always. #Jah_bless.
