(In English below) El cometa de Navidad, Nevski-Novichonok, o ISON, desde la perspectiva terrestre, acaba de entrar en la constelación de Virgo camino hacia Spica, la estrella que para los antiguos señalaba la presencia del Mesías. Su velocidad ha aumentado hasta los 46 kilómetros por segundo y ha atravesado la órbita de la tierra bastante más adelante de nosotros, por el lugar que la tierra ocupará a finales de enero. No va a ser el terriblemente brillante espectáculo que los sensacionalistas predicen en todas partes; pero sin duda será más brillante que los 230 cometas que en este momento están cerca de la tierra y que ni se mencionan porque ni siquiera con potentes telescopios es posible ver. Quizá incluso pueda ser visto a simple vista, como un tenue borrón blanquecino con su cola casi transparente. Lo que hace a este cometa único para los científicos, dejando de lado ahora su simbolismo religioso evidente, es su comportamiento desesperante (desmonta todas las predicciones científicas cada quince días) y su colorido que nunca se había visto. En efecto, el cometa es rojo con una nube de gas verde esmeralda alrededor. La primera foto que pongo es la única que he encontrado en colorido real, y no es muy buena por esa razón (los telescopios utilizan filtros de frecuencias para tomar imágenes nítidas, con coloridos simplificados). Indeed, the comet is red with emerald green gas cloud around. The first picture i put here is the only true color photo I have found, and not very good for that reason ( the big telescopes use frequency filters to take clear pictures with color simplified).
