In Malaysia’s ambitions to secure global competitiveness, we must also earnestly consider and implement measures to ensure the rakyat’s well-being in the levels of society to more accurately reflect the true well-being of the nation. Malaysia was ranked 56th out of 156 countries in the 2013 United Nations’s World Happiness Index. A nation’s sustainable progress in the global and competitive world of today must not be measured by the GDP’s performance alone.
