In Native tradition, ancient and modern, the lodge or sweat lodge - TopicsExpress

In Native tradition, ancient and modern, the lodge or sweat lodge is symbolic to a womb- The womb of all creation! The practice of sweating signifies pain, suffering, rebirth, and sacrifice. In this womb some can become connected to our Creatress the Mother of all Creation. The ritual or practice of sweating has great healing benefits on individual levels and on group levels. Great discipline, among other things, can be attained from such endeavors. I asked that when any person crawls into a sacred lodge, the womb of all creation, they go in there with at least one intention: to heal all persons inhabiting this planet!
