In accordance with the global best practice, the Executive Board of the Nigeria National League (NNL) has concluded plans to introduce branded match balls for the use of participating teams from the 2013/2014 season. Also, the NNL is to be registered with the relevant Federal Government agencies as a limited liability company to make for the effective and profitable management of the National League. NNL Executive Board Chairman, High Chief Emeka Inyama who disclosed this to the media yesterday in Abuja revealed that all clubs that will take part in the league will receive a uniformed branded match balls for their use. He hinted that from the new season, match officials will enforce the strict use of the branded balls on match days as it is the practice in other major leagues across the world. He said arrangement has been concluded with a company to supply the items which the NNL will in turn supply to the participating clubs. According to him the introduction of the branded match balls is part of the new innovations promised by NNL to make the league the envy of other leagues in the world not only in Africa.
