In association with Charter for Northern Ireland, BAGIT are pleased to offer more spaces for the following course which will take place in the Enler Centre from the 16th Sep and running on a Monday evening with refreshments included. Charter for Northern Ireland will be delivering a programme of history, culture & conflict awareness and dialogue sessions within the Castlereagh area. The programme is ideally for over 18s and is scheduled to begin September 2013. Times and dates can be agreed among participants. The nine workshops are aimed to cover the following ground in Irish/Ulster/ British history. 1. The Irish Celts and the Plantation of Ulster. 2. The 1798 Rising and the Irish Famine. 3. The Home Rule Crisis and the Great War. 4. The growth of the Northern Ireland State. 5. The Troubles, 1969-73. 6. The Troubles, 1974- 82. 7. The Troubles, 1983- 96. 8. The Good Friday Agreements and the subsequent peace process. 9. The options for the future. There are also site visits included to explore in-depth and relate back to the learning within the workshops. They are as follows:- 1. A site visit to the Ulster Museum and other civic buildings. 2. A site visit to the zones of past conflict in West Belfast. 3. A site visit to Stormont.
