In honour of yesterdays post about the new James Bond film we thought it was about time for an iconic music in movie post. The musical signature of James Bond 007 movies is an integral part of their DNA and has its roots in a now more than half century artistic collaboration between the producers and John Barry and his orchestra. In addition to the key James Bond Theme, Barry scored the whole films from the very earliest days and wrote the title tracks made famous by many top artists of their days. The musical style he created for the films continues even after he sadly passed away recently. The suggestive animations that complimented the opening title track are another iconic element of the films and were going to mark this here with the last example of what is perhaps the most iconic combination of all - Bond film, John Barry score, those title animations and Dame Shirley Bassey belting out another epic vocal. Dame Shirley is notable for not only being the only vocal artist to have appeared on more than one Bond theme but as having been asked to do three!
