In light of Ferguson I thought I might try and put a little positive out in the world with some Bette Midler and a statement of faith from the Iona Community: We believe that God is present in the darkness before dawn; in the waiting and uncertainty where fear and courage link hands and the sun rises over war zones. We believe that God is with us, sitting down in our midst to share our humanity. We affirm a faith that takes us beyond contemplation in to action. We commit ourselves to telling truths, to addressing injustice, to practicing peace and working for change according to the measure we are able. We are Gods people.
