In my email inbox: Hello, Im an AS Level art studio from the UK. My artwork is based on organs and embroidery, so when browsing the internet for inspiration I came across your amazing piece of artwork, Heart Center. I was awe inspired, I want to try and recreate this as part of my end of year piece. I have a few questions about the piece; -Where was your inspiration from? -How did you create the tubes that come out of the top of the heart? -What stitch did you use for the veins? -Is it 100% 3D? My response: I did not follow stitches from a book or video, I made the whole thing up myself to embody the vision in my head and figured it all out by trial and error. Tip: try to imagine you are 44, pregnant with the first child you have waited your whole life to have, on bed rest, and that each stitch you make is a way of sewing the child in, making her stay.
