In my opinion and despite his great contribution to make Film Noir - TopicsExpress

In my opinion and despite his great contribution to make Film Noir an Art cinematic genre (I would only remember: Laura, Fallen Angel, Whirlpool, Where the Sidewalk End, Angel Face and the Clouzots remake The 13th Letter) Otto Preminger has not yet received the large appreciation as a noir director he undoubtely deserves. But all his movies are, in different measure, remarkable both by their stories and by the large amount of visual noir identifiers that one can find in them. Under this last angle Where the Sidewalk End is (with Fallen Angel) the most representative of that certain style that make a noir immediately recognizable (as the few image I post below, demonstrate). r.m.
