In recognition of the National Day of Honour, we are displaying artifacts from Canada’s mission to Afghanistan in our Lobby. See the moving “Next of Kin Canvas”, signed by family members who travelled to Afghanistan to see where their loved ones served and died. The sculpture “Highway of Heroes” depicts the repatriation of soldiers and the Canadians who lined Hwy. 401 overpasses to witness the convoys. We also have Corporal Richard Aucoin’s colourful nose art — paintings on the front fuselage of Canadian Griffon helicopters. The artifacts will be on display all weekend.
