In the PREMIER DIVISION this week APPLEBY MAGNA chalked up a quite incredible scoreline in their match against a struggling WILNECOTE GLOBE . A goal from Applebys first attack , when a Danny Turner corner was headed home by Sam CARLINE , indicated what was to be a tough morning for Globe . Goals came at regular intervals and at the break it was 11-0 . Appleby strived to improve their goal difference and didnt let up in the second period . Globes cause wasnt helped by an injury to forward Carlos Rodriguez and he had to take over in goals and to his credit he made a number of fine saves but he couldnt stem the tide as the Appleby forwards ran riot scoring 14 goals in the second half for the game to end 25-0 in Applebys favour . Appleby scorers included an amazing TEN goals for Steve HART , Sam CARLINE finished the morning with four to his name as did Mitchell JORDAN , Danny TURNER bagged a hatrick and Rich WILEMAN a brace, Mark SMALLEY and James FISHER also with a goal each in this one sided affair ….. AUSTREY RANGERS met ROYAL OAK KINSBURY and Austrey came at Oak from the first whistle and took a deserved two goal lead and nearly made it three but for a great save from Collier and this seemed to give the Oak the kick start they needed and they soon got back into the game with a penalty through SMITH . The final twenty minutes of the half was all Oak and they managed to go into the break leading 3-2 with another from SMITH and a well taken goal from BROOKES . Once again Austrey started better and levelled in the first five minutes of the second half to make score 3-3 but Oak rallied again and bossed the second half but unfortunately couldnt get the goal they needed with the Austrey keeper making some good saves with the game ending 3-3 …. WOOD END SPORTS beat AFC BOLEHALL to take their league winning streak to five games after their opening day defeat to Austrey Rangers . Wood End cruised through the second half after Bolehall put in a valiant and battling first half performance where they were well in the game at 0-0 . Wood End had more possession throughout the whole game as everyone in the Bolehall side battled well disrupting play and counter attacked with intent as Wood End looked a little shaky at the back under pressure , however the legs ran out of the home side in the second half as Wood End scored four goals . Bolehall got into some great positions but went a little triggershy as their chances disappeared without any real shots to test the keeper in the first half as Wood End failed to beat stand in goalkeeper Aaron Thompson with some great positions themselves , twice a ball over the top putting them in one on one . In the second half Wood End came out with intent as Bolehall struggled to clear their lines and push forward and the opening goal felt inevitable as the ball fell kindly to their striker Dale FARLEY who tucked it away . Wood End doubled their lead through Dave YONWIN capitalizing on a mix up between keeper and defence and it was three soon after when Tom WEALE bent in a free kick . Bolehall nearly got a goal back when James Barron bravely chucked himself into a cross with a high boot from a defender , his header narrowly going wide . Wood End made it four after a great header by Johnathon BARKER , steering it past Aaron Thompson and the game ended 4-0 …. In DIVISION 1 , WILNECOTE WMC continued with their fine form defeating FC BONDS 3-0 thanks to goals from HADDOCK , ROBINSON and SMYTH …. DUG OUT FC still searching for their first league win of the season again tasted defeat , this week at the hands of POLESWORTH ROYAL OAK with the final score 5-2 . Dug Out started the game with relish and attacked from the off as they went in search of three points and they deservedly went ahead as HORTON scrambled home from a succession of corners but a defensive slip on a boggy pitch led to an equaliser against the run of play when Matt TURNER scored with a crisp finish . Back came Dug Out and MURRAY from the edge of the box rifled home and this spurred Dug Out on and two should have been three as Chapmans delightful chip agonisingly clipped the bar . A harshly awarded free kick saw Oak level as unmarked HARDING slotted home . Dug Out carried the game to Oak but as the game became physical and cautions were given for some shocking challenges by the Oak , Dug Out became less interested in holding onto the ball for fear of injury as in quick succession they lost three players to tackles and a further two goals were leaked as GOODWIN and HARDING both scored to leave the final score at 5-2 in Oaks favour whose over physical approach reeped the rewards in the end or just sheer desire to win the game ….. DIVISION 2 , last week saw COTTAGE FARM RANGERS chalk up their first win of the season and they they secured back to wins with a rather convincing 10-0 win over DRAYTON BASSETT this week . Cottage Farm were full of confidence going into this fixture with Drayton Bassett . The home side started the brighter and were nearly 1-0 to the good after ten minutes after Dobson beat the offside trap and his attempt to curl in to the far corner was denied by the keepers face , 0-0 it remained . Cottage went close again when Isaac Sands headed towards goal from a corner only to be denied what can only be described as a Gordan Banks save from the Drayton Bassett keeper . The game was being heavily contested in the middle of the park on a boggy and heavy Belgrave pitch . However , after a fine through ball from Scott Sheldon , Cottage Farm finally took the lead when Tom DOBSON put away one of his many first half chances beating the offside trap and slotting past a keeper that had lost all of his bearings leaving a huge gap to DOBSONs left . Despite dominating the half and Drayton Bassett going down to ten men due to a contact lens issue they only had a goal to show for their efforts . After an inspired talk from Jamie South regarding actually celebrating as a team when they scored , Cottage Farm came out in the second half keen to put away their chances and to celebrate as a team and it wasn’t long before Cottage Farm were 2-0 up when DOBSON was put through by Sam Cotterill to strike across the keeper and in to the far corner , the Drayton Bassett keeper then went off due to injuring his knee so he was replaced by the already injured regular goalkeeper , realising the contact lens issue would not be resolved Drayton Bassett then made the numbers level and brought on their veteran sub . Sam KINSON then joined in the scoring grabbing a tap in after some fine work by Louis Sands down the right he fired across the box and into KINSONs path for 3-0 . Jamie South then believed it was time for the introduction of James Pirlo Hirons in the centre of his midfield . KINSON then added his second of the game shortly after with a goal from the far post making it 4-0 . KINSON then completed a fine hat trick with a superb jinking run down the left cutting inside and curling into the far corner almost like he was holding down the finesse button on FIFA for 5-0 . DOBSON then completed his hat trick scoring with a rare right footed goal and it was 6-0 . Jamie South then decided it was time to bring on his two final subs of James BAYLISS and Mike DEVELIN . It wasnt long until BAYLISS was on the score sheet when Dobson went past the left back to go through one on one with the keeper only for it to bobble off the outside of his foot and into to the path of BAYLISS who scored with a diving header at the far post , Dobson still claims it was an exquisite Ronaldinho style pass... We beg to differ , DOBSON then got his fourth of the game collecting the ball and going round the on coming keeper and putting the ball past two players on the line for 8-0 . However, despite the game being safe no-one could have been prepared for the Mike DEVELIN show as he came off the bench to put the game beyond doubt by adding a couple of his own with two sublime tap-ins to make it 9 and then 10-0 . But the game wasnt finished when goal shy Danny Johnson at right back brought down the keepers kick and believed he was Beckham and from the half way line and attempted to chip the goalkeeper only for it to sail narrowly over the bar maybe even clipping it on the way over . Cottage Farm finally finding their feet now after a bumpy start to the season …. League leaders ONE STOP SUPPLEMENTS reeled off their 17th straight victory this week against FAZELEY TOWN , dating back to last season in all competitions as their cruise towards promotion gained further momentum this weekend . Missing the injured Liam Rowley , who had incredibly scored in every game this season , One Stop started off nervously against perennial rivals Fazeley , and a simple through ball caught One Stop defence napping , centre back Siddaway fouling the Town striker and the resulting penalty was almost kept out brilliantly by keeper Allen down low to his right , but the shot squirmed in with barely three minutes gone . This setback seemed to jolt Supplements into action and they should have equalised five minutes later when some pinball action around the box ended with the ball at the feet of Forster who blazed wildly over from less than five yards with the goal gaping .The league leaders continued to turn the pressure up and after a period of midfield domination , a great long ball into space wide right by Hicks was collected by ELLIS who cut inside his marker and hit a cross/shot that the keeper fumbled into his own net after half hour to level the scores up . Almost from the restart , Supplements sensed blood and immediately , a flick on by Shirley saw Eliis sprint clear, who played a beat pass inside to Hicks , who then immediately fed Shirley whose clever ball to ELLIS saw him beat the offside trap , compose himself and blast into the net to turn the game on its head . A fantastic team goal . One Stop received a stern talking to at halftime over a slack first half display , and they flew out of the traps for the second period . Playmaker Shirley burst clean through the suicidal high line Fazeley were using, and when his shot was saved by the visiting keeper , the rebound was controlled by Hicks who played a neat ball back across the area for captain ROWLEY to control and slash his shot into the corner to continue his fine goalscoring form of late five minutes into the restart . One Stop were now moving through the gears and a magnificent move ten minutes in involving Siddaway , Rowley and Haddock ended with Ellis cutting inside and slamming a rising drive off the top of the bar . From the restart , a ball across the box by Rowley was dummied by Forster for Ellis to control and blast wide from just eight yards . And thirty seconds later a switch in play by Wassall to Hicks saw his ball across the box hammered by Eliis off the post and the rebound cannoned off Forster and wide in a farcical event . Fazeley were hanging on for dear life and they were offering nothing in an attacking sense , the game was simply a matter of how many One Stop could net . However they had to wait until the dying minutes to add more gloss to the scoreline , again incredible foot work by Ellis saw him strike a shot that the keeper saved well , but the rebound was played straight back across the six yard line by GIlbert for substitute ROBERTS to net smartly at the far post to complete a comprehensive 4-1 victory for One Stop at Landau Amington ….. DIVISION 3 saw COTON ARMS lose by the odd goal in three when SPORTS BAR ATLECTIC edged a close encounter to win 2-1 . Sports Bar went away to bottom of the table Coton Arms with a threadbare squad but needing all three points . They started the game under pressure from Coton Arms who had a lot of the ball in midfield without creating many chances . The game was fairly even though with the away side not really getting going and Coton were trying to make their possession count but to no avail . Sports Bar had a couple of good chances as the half went on but went in at the break at a comfortable 0-0 . The second half saw Sports Bar take the lead early on when a speculative ball from Dan Croot wasnt cut out by the Coton defender and Rikki MADDOCKS steered it home first time . Sports Bar then had several chances to double their lead but didnt take them . Coton came into the game during the last twenty minutes in search of an equaliser and got one soon after . However, a moment of standout quality won the game for Sports Bar late on when Dan CROOT smashed home a screamer from the corner of the box . Sports Bar held on to survive a late scare and get the win they overall deserved .... EDINGALE SWIFTS were made to pay for missed chances as they were beaten heavily for the second time this season by a WARTON CLUB side who should clearly be playing at a higher level . Edingale were containing the visitors early on and nearly took the lead when Kieran Cherrie rounded the keeper and looked like scoring , however the keeper made a flying save to keep the ball out . Cherrie again went close when he got in behind the defence but his chip went just wide . At the other end Warton were wasteful in the final third often blazing shots wide when passes were the better option . For all Warton’s possession it took a counter attack to break the deadlock when the striker went through to slot home . For the remainder of the half Danny Bowles in the Edingale goal pulled off at least three excellent saves to keep the visitors at bay . The second half started shakily for the Swifts but they were level in comical circumstances when the defender cleared against the keeper and it deflected back into his net . Warton retook the lead not long after when the left back hit a thirty yard screamer into the top of the net and it was 3-1 ten minutes later . Edingale had a couple more half chances , Cherrie hit a free kick which the keeper saved and Andrew Stewart-Jones couldn’t quite get on the end of a great Cherrie cross . Edingale sensed a goal would set up a nervy finish but Warton defended well on the whole and hit Edingale on the break twice more to seal a 5-1 win .... FC WHITE LION bounced back after a poor result last week which carried through until half time in their fixture against MIDLAND UNITY this week , going in at half time 2-0 down . A game of two halves is a phrase over used in football , but thats exactly what you got at Rene Road , Unity, who didnt have a recognised keeper to field this week , were forced to play a defender in goal , and feared a spanking , in fact it was Unity who had all the fun in the first half , White Lion never really tested the stand in keeper as Lion seemed more interested in fighting and arguing amongst each other . Unity took full advantage and were seriously threatening Lions goal . After seeing half a dozen efforts go wide or saved , HIGGS scored the first goal , all be it a lucky one when his cross come shot looped over the keeper into the net . It was soon 2-0 in Unitys favour when Edwards fed the ball into DARKES feet , who controlled first time and buried the ball . Unity had more chances in the first half but couldnt extend their lead which would come back to haunt them in the second half . Once a few things had been corrected during the first half interval White Lion were able to settle and get themselves back into the game . Once again Jason Weatherstone coming off the bench made a difference up top , and Neil Diamond with a mom performance on the left , White Lion went on to win the game 7-2 . The first three of their goals from corners , first goal coming from Jordan CHADWICK , his first for the club . Then Reece Cooper forcing the error for an own goal . Then Jason WEATHERSTONE to smash home a superb volley from just inside the box punishing a poor headed clearance . Josh THOMAS after finally waking up scored a great individual goal holding the ball up to spin and drive a left footed shot into the bottom corner surprising everyone . Reece COOPER then scored from another corner and once again after a scramble . Then to rap things up a great move ended with Jason WEATHERSTONE stealing his second just before the ball passed the line after a volley from Minshull was tipped onto the post for Weatherstone to run it across the goal to steal his second and complete the 7-2 win in this game of two halves ….. Having already lost to WILNECOTE QUEENS HEAD twice this season the GATE INN knew they would have to be on top form to stand any chance of competing with their opponents and after taking an early 1-0 lead they must have fancied their chances of giving them a game this time around . The goal saw Queens immediately raise their game though and three goals in quick succession saw them coast comfortably into half time 3-1 ahead . The first goal coming as Davis was played in down the right and he beat his man to deliver a sublime ball to the back post where EVANS was able to nod home for 1-1 then HORTON finishing on the volley from the edge of the box as Gate tried to clear from a corner , and HILL slotting home after being played in by Evans for 3-1 at the break . The pressure continued in the second half as Queens scored four without reply , a delightful chip over the Gate keeper from twenty five yards and a quickly taken free-kick on the edge of the box both from SMITH for a brace , plus one more each from EVANS and HILL . Gate managed to get a goal back when the Queens keeper failed to deal with a seemingly straight forward backpass that Chris BROWN netted for his second goal of the morning , but it was Queens who finished strongly as chance after chance went by before EVANS completed his hat-trick . Hill had his own chance for a hat-trick at the end but couldn’t find the target , this would have been good as he was playing right back all game , but in the end a more than comfortable 8-2 win for Queens in a pretty seemingly one sided game …. ST JOHNS put five without reply past SWIFTS to win 5-0 . St Johns started as favourites in this clash that started very slowly for both teams with very few chances being created early on . St Johns passing was letting them down on a difficult surface and made for a very scrappy opening half hour . The deadlock was finally broken just on the half hour after a fine move down St Johns left , lead to a deep cross being half cleared by the Swifts defence only to see the ball land at Kieran RICHARDSONs feet who struck a sweet first time shot from the edge of the box that flew into the corner of the net to put St Johns into a 1-0 lead . The game remained a scrappy affair up till half time with Swifts having marginally the better of the possession without really creating many clear cut chances . St Johns started the second half with much more intensity than the first and didn’t take long before they doubled their lead with a lovely crafted goal that started in defence and when the ball was played forward to Mason Derry on the left he rounded the Swifts full back and delivered an inch perfect cross for Harley BAKER to head home from close range for 2-0 . It wasn’t long before St Johns made it 3-0 with a scrappy goal that came about from a half cleared corner which was headed back into the box by Ben White and nicely put away by Joshua WILLIAMS who Had to wait for the ball to come down before striking his shot powerfully passed the advancing keeper . The game fell into a bit of lull with St Johns now mostly controlling possession but not really creating any clear chances to kill the game off . The fourth goal did eventually come from a right sided corner taken by Harley Baker who accurately picked out Joshua WILLIAMS to head home his second of the game to give St Johns a 4-0 lead that wrapped the game up . St Johns made it 5-0 with probably the goal of the game that came from a swift break from midfield by Corey Richardson who fed the ball onto Mason DERRY who from the edge of the box unleashed an unstoppable shot that flew in off the post to make the final score 5-0 to St Johns that kept up their recent run of good form .... DIVISION 4 saw league leaders TWO GATES UNITED RESERVES win 9-0 over ANKERSIDE RANGERS . Jordan WORRELL scored four , M. REDDISH got two and D. COLES , S. RAWLINGS and A. EATON with the other goals ….. WILNECOTE PRINCE started their game with FAZELEY TOWN RESERVES with only ten men which showed as Fazeley had a lot of the possession . Fazeley made the right decision at the toss to change ends and have Prince playing into the sun , they scored two goals early on which the Prince keeper and defence could not see coming with the sun in their eyes . Fazeley made it 3-0 in the first half but when Princes 11th man turned up , he came on and pulled one back for them with a great screamer from Adam BIRD his first for the team . The joy didnt last long as one of their players went off injured before half time and they were back down to ten men . The second half Prince had a lot more chances as Fazeley looked tired and Prince worked well and got another , a top corner screamer from Mike BLURTON , another first goal for the team . An entertaining game however finished with an improving Fazeley picking up the three points winning 3-2 ….. HURLEY KINGS took the points in their game with GLASCOTE SWIFTS winning 4-0 …. MERCIAN suffered back to back league defeats after going down 4-2 this week to DYNAMO SPORTS BAR . Brian FERRER opened the scoring for Dynamo with a delightful finish from just inside the box after some smart play before the Mercian equalised through HAWKINS from a corner following some sloppy Dynamo defending . Dynamo started the second half brightly and some great attacking play soon found them 3-1 up following goals from Sam MORRELL and Dan FRENCH , before the Mercian pulled one back with an excellent free kick around twenty yards out from BUTLER . As Mercian searched for the equaliser the opportunity came for a swift Dynamo counter attack where Rich VENABLES applied the killer blow and Mercian lost out to the better team on the day …. POLESWORTH SPORTS & SOCIAL turned up with only ten men to play STONYDELPH and were given the run around for the whole game , in the end losing 14-0 . David HEWINS got Stonydelph off to a perfect start inside five minutes , Mark Bashford swung over a corner and the Polesworh keeper could only push away Darren Goodbys header into the path of Hewins who was on hand to tap home from close range . It was HEWINS again mid way through the first half when he headed home an Adam Leavold corner and then bagged his hat trick after a good run and cross down the left from Richard Mattison found Hewins at the back post who tapped home a simple volley . HEWINS then got the scoring going again in the second half after good play down the right hand side from Adam Leavold and Chris Baddams with Baddams supplying the cross for Hewins to fire home from inside the box . Again it was Leavold and Baddams doing the damage down the right with Baddams swinging in the cross to the back post where Mark BASHFORD cushioned his header under the Polesworth keeper . BADDAMS then found the net himself after he picked up the ball outside of the area and fired his shot into the top corner from twenty plus yards out . Again Baddams was the provider when he played in Richard MATTISON who rounded the keeper and walked the ball into the empty net . BADDAMS then grabbed his second goal of the game from a corner , after a scramble in the box the ball fell to Baddams who placed his shot into the bottom corner . Darren GOODBY then got his name on the scoresheet when he connected well with Adam Leavolds corner and headed into the corner of the goal leaving the keeper with no chance . Goodby then turned provider when he played MATTISON in down the left who expertly lashed his shot past the keeper into the far corner . Adam Leavold again swung in another corner to the near post to the head of Daniel HATHAWAY who cushioned his effort past the keeper . Stonydelph were then awarded a penalty and up stepped substitute Guy Chambers looking for his first goal for Stonydelph but his tame effort was well saved by the Polesworth keeper . CHAMBERS did though then bag his first goal for the club when Perry Fitzmaurice played him in down the right channel and Chambers fired his shot past the keeper at the near post . Kevin TURNER then bagged his first goal for Stonydelph when the ball ricocheted to him inside the penalty area and he calmly lashed the ball into the bottom corner . MATTISON then bagged his hat-trick when he turned in the box and shot into the bottom corner sending the keeper the wrong way and that was the final action of the game that saw it finish 14-0 …. E.S GEORGE MEMORIAL CUP saw SNARESTONE GLOBE of Division 1 meet WILNECOTE RED LION of the Premier Division . An intriguing clash gave Snarestone the chance to test themselves against higher league opposition in the form of leaders Wilnecote Red Lion and they werent found wanting . With both teams looking to play football , it was always going to be about taking the chances when they came along and after a slow start Snarestone began to put some good moves together with a couple of these resulting in first KING and then STEWART putting Snarestone 2-0 up at half-time . After starting the second half much the same as they finished the first , a serious injury to Globe keeper Mike Rosenbach plus the delay that ensured seemed to take the wind out of Snarestones sails and Red Lion took full advantage when pulling one back to make it 2-1 . With Captain Danny Pallett having to step between the sticks and the re-arranging of the team , things could have slipped away from the Division One side but this Snarestone side are made of sterner stuff and with McArdle seeming to cover every blade of grass , excellent link-up play up front by King helped Chris wheres Danny? CHETWYN and Nick 2 in 7 FENTON score one each putting Snarestone 4-1 up but Red Lion are not top of the Premier for nothing and back they came with two goals themselves to make it 4-3 and after what seemed the longest two minutes in history the whistle went and Snarestone Globe could celebrate a hard-fought victory .... ELLISION ROSE BOWL CUP action saw Division 4 outfit NEWTON ALLIANCE host HURLEY UNITED of Division 1 for what on paper was a forgone conclusion before kick off and this it was . Hurley played some great football in the first half , killing off any Newton Alliance hopes of an upset , going 3-0 up in the first ten minutes , a fair few mistakes with the Alliance defence helped them along the way . With twenty minutes gone Hurley were four goals to the good and it was the ageing strike force of SWANN and HOPKINS both scoring a brace that settled any nerves Hurley may have had . Hurleys goalkeeper was lucky to stay on the pitch , let alone get away without a booking as he rushed out to Mitch Bird who was through on goal one on one with a two footed challenge that sent him sprawling , but strangely the referee gave the decision the other way . Hurley added two more goals from corners , the first from LEECH the second from BRUSH . Alliance managed to win a penalty and Mitch BIRD smashed it home and it was 6-1 at the break . Second half saw Hurley only slot three more goals through SWANN twice and HOLLAND as Alliance went for damage limitation and defended much better , but on the day Alliance were well and truly out played and out classed by their higher league opponents ....
