In the belief that feelings follow behavior; and that Lincoln was correct that most folks are about as happy as they want to be; it seems like a good idea to act happy. Mostly I do and am these days. For some reason, the last few days my head cant let go of a song that I wrote when I was 24, that last year that my life seemed to be going nowhere, before I seized a chance to go to Europe and stayed there a couple of years, never looking back. Its late adolescent juvenilia I know, but still... sometimes things come full circle. (Ill spare you the recording, here are the lyrics if you are interested :).) ........... Its always on the horizon, and still it slips away; its a dream right over the mountain, though my path may dip and sway. Ive never been a happy man, never satisfied; never done what Im made for, never thought I really tried. The years seem long behind me, sure thought Id know by now... but the futures still uncertain, does it matter anyhow... Searching, searching, always searching, never know what for; wondering wondering always wondering, is there really any more... My friends have gone on without me, Ive stayed my separate way; they have goals so clear before them, or at least thats what they say. Never been so sure of me, cause Im spread so thin; never known which path to take, never thought that I could win.
