In the midst of disruptive calls for Paul Lamberts sacking on open - TopicsExpress

In the midst of disruptive calls for Paul Lamberts sacking on open letters and change.org, followed by some supporters plans to empty the Holte End for the first 8 mins of the upcoming Villa Vs Liverpool game in protest for 8 seasons of ownership under Lerner... I am glad that we have focus on the transfer market to bring in Carles Gils. The uncertainty and negative news at Villa has put potential investors and possibly good signings off. So this is one good deal done with the limited budget we have. History weighed on us being the founder members of the football league back 1888. We were one of the founder members for Premier League 1992. We were one of the 5 English Clubs ever to win a European Champions Cup (1982). But there were the dark days when were relegated to the old Third Division before. Die-hard fans still turned up and cheered the team. When I decide to support Villa back in 14 March 1993, it was a Man Utd Vs Aston Villa fixture. The game ended 1-1. I knew nothing of both teams. I did not know it was a 1st vs 2nd of the table clash with Man Utd. That was the first live telecast BPL match I watched with my dad securing and adjusting a hand-held satellite to get the signals... There is a certain Paul McGrath and Mark Bosnich that caught my eye on that match and I am in love with Villa since... Not even knowing where the club was placed, not even knowing who was the manager, not knowing the rest of the players... But there was a connection no doubt... Yes, the days ahead for Villa looks bleak at best. But to vacant the seats for such a tough game when we need goals and points ASAP instead of sticking together with the team through bad times, I wonder how disruptive can we be to our own players and beloved team... I guess at this juncture, the last thing we should do is to rub salt to our own wounds... But thats what we are doing... I desire to get a Holte end seat if I ever get a chance... Not vacant it... If only we can all get behind the players and manager on simpler terms like how when we started supporting our boyhood club. Its ok to voice frustration like booing at the end of a game. But Boycotting a club en masse on a match day at the start of a game to force things through is over the line for me... Whether we are winning or losing... We should be one big family. I hope Villa park will roar with pride and not jeers this coming week... The Holte End is supposed to be our 12th man in the pitch... For Villa not for our opponents. #utv #Vtid #avfc
