In the month of March, I lost two of the dearest people in my life to cancer. My best friend Lorraine Petra Jackson and my sister MaryAnn Schofield, both in one month. Cancer never touched my life so hard until this one month. I knew cancer was an ugly disease that took lives, but until the month of March, I never felt it. Now all of a sudden, cancer is all around me. Friends, Family, acquaintances, people I’d just met and am still meeting that has lost someone dear to them from cancer or knows someone that has died or is suffering from cancer. The stories I have heard since the loss of my loved ones are amazing. This October I want to not only honor the two lives lost to cancer that meant so much to me, but all those that has been effected by cancer as a victim, a survivor, family member or friend. So please come and join me as I honor my loved ones Lorraine Petra Jackson and MaryAnn Schofield for the Jackson/Schofield Cancer Foundation Fundraiser. There will be entertainment, food, guest speakers, a wall of honor for those we’ve lost to cancer and a wall of Victory for those who fought the fight and won. More information will be up-coming on this special event on a regular basis as we put it all together. The American Cancer society will be supporting and working with us on this event and will be one of our vendors giving away awareness information and gifts.
