In the past two days, I have been bombarded in print and broadcast - TopicsExpress

In the past two days, I have been bombarded in print and broadcast offerings with the buzzword “disruptive” -- to the point it has lost any meaning. Also jumping the shark, in what everyone knows is Shark Week, is “iconic,” as in “the iconic Star Spangled Banner.” And in a related disruption to the language, I heard that the Fort Hood trial is “ironically being held near the medical center where he worked.” Coincidental, maybe, but not ironic because the situation is exactly as it apepars to be -- a soldier in a courtroom at the "venue" where he is alleged to have committed a workplace crime. Let’s just keep misusing words until there are only a few left and we don’t have to know anything at all. It would save time.
