In varying degrees, cancer has affected most everyone Ive met. Driving home from the hospital, after my mom had surgery, I thought, what would it feel like if she died today? What would people say? What would I want? I wrote a song called Safe on that drive. When I was asked by my dear friend Dr. Jim Olson to help Project Violet through recording a couple of songs for his live album The Violet Sessions, Safe was the one song that I thought any cancer victims families would completely understand. Loaded Pictures graciously produced this beautiful music video for the live recording from Dr. Jim and, his lovely wife, Sallys living room. I hope you join us in raising awareness and support for this incredible cancer research. Thank you to all that helped make this album and video happen. Thank you to the scientists who are dedicating their lives to bettering others lives. And thank you to victims and their loved ones for your strength and love.
