In what seems to be a darkish comedy, Michael Keaton portrays a movie star who used to be big deal when he played the superhero Birdman. Years later his work is limited to the theater with a competitive jackass actor played by Ed Norton. This casting parallel of Keaton, who was the movie superhero Batman 25 years ago, appeals to me because he is able to fun of himself and his former role from the 1980s.
