Incline Bench Format from Team Lyons Den This is my incline bench format. I have started to get away from using the incline bench that is a pre-set height. Instead I have been using a flat bench propped up on a 6 inch block. I personally believe it takes more off of the anterior delts and stimulates more upper pectoral development. I use a powerlifter set up on the bench as it places the posterior delts behind the pectorals for better stretching purposes (sub-scapular retraction allows for greater pectoral fiber stretch and recoil during concentric movement). No, I am not the strongest bencher, but I have learned HOW to use my chest muscle during movement.
